“Terkait Pilkada DKI, sejak gubernur sekarang ini dilantik, kita para ulama dan Habait kami membuat gubernur tandingan dan itu hanya perlawanan politik karena kebijakan menyulut SARA,” ucap Habib Rizieq, Senin (29/8/2016), dikutip dari merdeka.com.
Terkait dengan pernyataan itu, Habib Rizieq mencontohkan, ketika penjualan hewan kurban untuk hari Raya Idul Adha. Ketika itu Ahok mengatakan bahwa tempat pemotongan hewan harus di tempat khusus. Ahok juga meminta penjualan hewan kurban tidak dilaksanakan di sembarang tempat.
Namun meski begitu, Habib Rizieq tidak selamanya dirinya membenci Ahok.
“Saya menolak gubernur non muslim bukan saya sentimen. Karena itu perintah Tuhan saya,” lanjutnya.
Pemenang pada pesta demokrasi wilayah Ibukota itu diharapkan merupakan sosok pemimpin yang bisa mengayomi masyarakat.
“Kita warga Jakarta mengharapkan pemimpin yang amanah,” ujar Rizieq dengan tegas, di Gedung Joeang 45, Menteng, Jakarta, Senin (29/08/2016), dikutip dari rimanews.com.

Habib Rizieq juga memastikan bahwa pihaknya akan tetap menghormati dan mendukung siapa pun pemimpin yang terpilih pada Pilkada DKI Jakarta 2017 nantinya. Namun, Habib Rizieq memberikan syarat pemimpin tersebut memiliki etika sopan, santun, jujur, dan membela rakyat kecil.
